Our stay started off really bad, but the staff worked hard to make up for it the next day by changing our room twice. At the end, we had a great experience but getting to that great experience was a journey. Details: When we first arrived, the front desk lady very was abrupt- as if we were interrupting her evening by checking into our room. She spoke fast, & didn't look at us when talking. Because she wasn't looking, not paying attention, she kept asking us to repeat our questions. It was weird. We wondered if this was Tahitian culture as it was our first night in Tahiti after a long international flight. When we got to the assigned room - it was noisy on the main road and smelled of cigarettes- like really bad. I told the front desk that my daughter and I couldn't stay in a smoking room. They came to the room, found a burned cigar in the corner floor of the room, took it, and sprayed the room, while we were in it (they wore masks and didn't tell us that they were going to spray while we were in the room) The spray was strong and potent, it gave us headaches and made us feel ill - I went downstairs and said we can NOT be in that room. The front desk person got even more irritated with us. I felt like I made a mistake prepaying 2 nights for this run-down hotel. It took some determination but after a bit, they changed our room to one across the hall and we finally slept - but that first night was not fun. In the morning, we found a note under our door to meet the manager at the front desk. I was sure I was in trouble for being persistent on the room change, but when we got to the front desk there was a different team & they apologized profusely for what happened the night before & offered to upgrade our second evening in a family suite. From this point on we had a wonderful experience at the hotel. The free kayaks & pool, & the staff (apart from the first crazy front desk person) were great.

It is a beautiful hotel, much attention has been paid to details. I got upgraded to a garden studio with a little kitchen, which had everything. I didn’t use it as I was only there for the night but it is a great feature if you want to cook yourself. The bathroom was huge with a big rain shower and big bathtub! Plus the ambiance was great with black stones and pearl of shells. The bedroom had a huge wooden desk and little couch, a big bed and tv that connects to apps as well! There was a little garden that I didn’t sit in. The hotel was decorated in the Christmas vibe and it was really cool with all the lights! The pool is huge and there are a few areas where you can go from stairs in the ocean to snorkel. This is small because the current up ahead is too strong. The pool bar was cool, you can sit on stools in the water and the people who work there were really nice! I was only there for 1 night and a whole day so I can’t say more than this, I didn’t book an excursion.

It is actually pretty hard to beat the infinity pool overlooking Moorea with a swim up bar. The associated restaurant was also a very nice first night in French Polynesia. Food was really great and turns out pricey food is not unusual for FP. You’re paying for the incredible position as well here. Really enjoyable tasty and cheaper alternatives were the food trucks just opposite the resort or a short walk north. Share meals here - servings were huge. There was a little market close by and larger supermarkets further north. Staff were unfailingly polite and pleasant over 5 days. Wifi was the best in FP - excellent (we had some bad wifi). The gym was a little cramped, but when empty it was fine. Our garden view apartment was excellent if a little odd in configuration - the sofabed downstairs meant our teenage daughters pretty much had their own bedroom. Huge apartment overall.

We spent two nights here after a week in Moorea, we really enjoyed everything about the resort, yes food and drinks are expensive, but It is expensive everywhere in French Polynesia. All the food and drinks we had were tasty and reasonable size portions. Yes the resort is looking a bit tired but it is reflected in the price, you are not paying Hilton rates! So for us it was good value compared to what you can pay elsewhere. Make sure you book a water side table for dinner at the restaurant and also out on the little bar islands for sunset, watching the fish in the lights is fun and we enjoyed both tables. Also book a table at blue banana down the road, great food and friendly service, again book a water table. We stayed in a one bedroom apartment with ocean view, the view was amazing :)

From arrival to departure, the staff were welcoming and friendly. Reception assisted us with the loan of a travel adaptor and ensured we had a taxi booked for our ongoing travel ... (with an English speaking driver). The wifi was excellent, and breakfast had a large selection of hot and cold. An omelette station is always welcomed and was lovely! An option to sit outside for breakfast was really nice. The pool and lagoon is beautiful, and the view of Moorea, especially at sunset, was stunning! Our suite had a lagoon view, and it was an absolute treat to sit on the balcony! We ate at the restaurant and were very satisfied with both price and quality. Happy hour cocktails are always a great idea, and we loved the swim up bar. We would definitely stay here again.
